Notes

'Lipstick' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Lipstick') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The full double blooms are white with red streaks, stripes, and flecks. The red markings suggest the name. Samuel E. Wissing bred it from Miss America, and it has good foliage.

Pairs well with Rainbow's End hosta, David garden phlox, and Ostrich fern.
