Notes

'Little Boy Blue' lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Little Boy Blue') is a shrub for specimen planting, cottage gardens, hedges, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. Sky blue single flowers open in early to late spring and smell sweet, and bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit them. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Blue Muffin arrowwood viburnum, Carlton daffodil, Hosta, and Phantom panicle hydrangea.
