Notes

'Little Penny' thrift (Armeria maritima 'Little Penny') is a perennial for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. It forms a slow, clumping mound of evergreen foliage that stays 3 to 6 inches tall. Crimson pink flowers appear in spring and again in summer, and bees and butterflies visit them.

Pairs well with Blue fescue, Creeping juniper, and Greig's tulip.
