Notes

'Little Woody' Texas redbud (Cercis canadensis 'Little Woody') is a tree for borders, specimen planting, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. It grows with multiple stems at a moderate rate and reaches 10 to 12 feet tall. Purple flowers open from early to late spring and attract butterflies and bees.

Pairs well with Amsonia, Oakleaf hydrangea, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Autumn fern.
