Notes

'Louise' peony (Paeonia 'Louise') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. Purple blooms with carmine-pink shading open in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Prof. Arthur Percy Saunders bred it.

Pairs well with Curly Fries hosta, Knapweed, and Carlton daffodil.
