Notes

'Love' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Love') is a shrub for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows fast to 24 to 36 inches tall and can spread up to 47 inches. It also tolerates salt. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Astilbe, Siebold's hosta, Japanese forest grass, and Autumn fern.
