Notes
Low woodland sedge (Carex socialis) is a grass for shade gardens, woodland edges, and groundcover. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). The plant grows up to 28 inches tall. Small yellow, green, and brown flowers appear in mid to late spring. The grass-like clumps give the garden a soft, fine texture.
Pairs well with Autumn fern, Autumn Frost hosta, and Snowdrop.
