Notes

Lowbush blueberry (Vaccinium pallidum) is a shrub for pollinator gardens, low maintenance beds, food gardens, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows 12 to 36 inches tall and prefers acid soil. Bees, butterflies, and birds visit it, and it tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Mountain laurel, Wintergreen, Little bluestem, and Canadian hemlock.
