'Luranhongjian' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Luranhongjian') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant double flowers open in late spring. They are red-purple with dark purple flares at the center. The upright stems need no support.
