Notes

'Luxuriant' peony (Paeonia 'Luxuriant') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Roger F. Anderson bred this white Itoh hybrid, and its semi-double, fragrant flowers carry a lavender cast. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Strong, long stems hold the blooms well above the dark green foliage, and bees and butterflies visit them.

Pairs well with Fire and Ice hosta, Moonshine yarrow, Limelight hydrangea, and Blue grama.
