Notes

'Madame Escary' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Madame Escary') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large double flowers open in mid to late spring. Cupped outer petals overlap smoothly around a rose-bud center. The blooms look pure white, with faint pink and a slight greenish yellow cast.

Pairs well with Spotted dead nettle, Sedge, Carlton daffodil, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
