Notes

'Madame Louis Henry' peony (Paeonia 'Madame Louis Henry') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. The blooms mix carmine buff and pink, with purple markings at the base of the petals. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Henry bred it in 1919.

Pairs well with Obsidian coral bells, Lily, Greig's tulip, and Clematis.
