Notes

'Magenta Jensa' peony (Paeonia 'Magenta Jensa') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, double magenta flowers sit high above deep green foliage on sturdy stems, and bees and butterflies visit the blooms. It sits low on the menu for deer and rabbits. J. F. Cote, Jr bred it in 1984.

Pairs well with August Moon hosta, Limelight hydrangea, and Christmas fern.
