Notes

'Magenta Melody' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Magenta Melody') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It grows about 26 inches tall and blooms in mid to late spring and early summer. The fragrant, fuchsia double flowers form magenta balls, with two or three buds on each stem. William Henry Krekler bred it, and Klehm's Song Sparrow Perennial Farm introduced it in 2000.

Pairs well with Grape hyacinth, Sedge, and Ostrich fern.
