Notes
'Magenta Splash' peony (Paeonia 'Magenta Splash') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Single magenta flowers attract butterflies and bees, and the new leaves emerge burgundy before turning green. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. Roger F. Anderson bred it.
Pairs well with Big Daddy hosta, Christmas fern, Queen of Night tulip, and Limelight hydrangea.
