Notes

'Marchioness' peony (Paeonia 'Marchioness') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. The fragrant mauve rose flowers have dark maroon flares and attract butterflies and bees. Arthur Percy Saunders bred it in 1942. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Cheyenne Spirit echinacea, Blue fescue, The President clematis, and June hosta.
