Notes

'Marie Frances' lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Marie Frances') is a shrub for cottage gardens, specimens, hedges, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. Shrimp pink flowers open in early to late spring and smell sweet, and bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds visit them. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. It also tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Phantom panicle hydrangea, Cheerfulness daffodil, Hosta, and Spiked speedwell.
