Notes

'Marie Stuart' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Marie Stuart') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears double pink flowers that you can cut for bouquets. Jacques Calot bred it in 1867. Plant it where the pink blooms can brighten a sunny border.

Pairs well with Swamp milkweed, Phantom panicle hydrangea, Sedge, and Grape hyacinth.
