Notes
'Mary Brand' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Mary Brand') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large, crimson flowers have crinkled, fringed petals that form a ball shape. They open from mid to late spring into early summer and smell sweet. Strong stems hold the blooms upright.
Pairs well with Dog's tooth violet, Western sword fern, and Smooth hydrangea.
