Notes
'Mary Elizabeth' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Mary Elizabeth') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Rose-red petals surround a light yellow center in late spring. Side buds extend the flowering, and the color stays attractive until petal fall. Don Hollingsworth bred it in 2004.
Pairs well with Smooth hydrangea, Garlic chives, Royal fern, and Black Hero tulip.
