Notes

'Mary Joan Cummings' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Mary Joan Cummings') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Early in spring, large single blooms open pale pink and fade nearly white. Each flower has two rows of ruffled petals around a cushion of yellow stamens. Stiff stems hold the blooms up over glossy dark green leaves.

Pairs well with Perennial candytuft, Prairie dropseed, Black Hero tulip, and Christmas fern.
