Notes

'Max Frei' bloody geranium (Geranium sanguineum 'Max Frei') is a perennial for borders, rock gardens, ground cover, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows 6 to 9 inches tall and bears reddish-purple flowers that attract butterflies and bees. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Fall color adds interest late in the year.

Pairs well with White Swan coneflower, Carlton daffodil, Sedge, and Hosta.
