Notes

'Mainacht' sage (Salvia sylvestris 'Mainacht') is a perennial for borders, cottage gardens, pollinator gardens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It bears fragrant purple blooms, and bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds visit them. It grows fast and stands erect to about 30 inches tall.

Pairs well with Magnus coneflower, Moonshine yarrow, Blue fescue, and Prairie dropseed.
