Notes

'Mecca' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Mecca') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its single red flowers open in early summer and make a bold show in the garden. You can cut the blooms to bring indoors. Arthur L. Murawska bred it.

Pairs well with Fringed bleeding heart, Woolly yarrow, and Blonde Ambition blue grama.
