Notes

'Meridian' apple (Malus domestica 'Meridian') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating and juice. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. White flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees. Meridian is not self-fertile, so plant a second apple nearby for pollination. East Malling Research Station developed it in the 1970s.

Pairs well with Weigela, Pink Impression tulip, and Christmas fern.
