Notes

'Michen' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Michen') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flower gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Hermann Krupke bred it from Le Charme and Bowl of Cream. The fully double, light pink flowers have blushing outer petals and a dense ball center. They open late in spring, last long, and have strong stems that suit cutting.

Pairs well with Tickseed, Smooth hydrangea, Grape hyacinth, and Sedge.
