Notes

'Minnetonka' rhododendron (Rhododendron 'Minnetonka') is a shrub for accents, foundation plantings, and understory spots. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun and average to moist soil. Pink spring flowers have yellow-green specks on the upper lobes and attract bees. Rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. Prune it after flowering, and add mulch to keep the roots evenly moist.

Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Northwind switchgrass, and Climbing hydrangea.
