Notes

'Miss Saori' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Miss Saori') is a shrub for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and foundation planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Double white florets have rose-pink edges and bloom on old and new wood from June until frost. The leaves open burgundy-red, turn greener, then return to burgundy-red, and full sun brings the richest color.

Pairs well with Beni-Maiko Japanese maple, Wide Brim hosta, and Japanese forest grass.
