Notes

Missouri goldenrod (Solidago missouriensis) is a perennial for meadow plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy soil. Small yellow flowers form nodding, plume-shaped clusters on smooth, reddish stems. It is the earliest goldenrod to bloom, and butterflies visit the flowers. It forms loose colonies, so give it room to spread.

Pairs well with Dark Towers beardtongue, White prairie clover, Prairie junegrass, and Sand dropseed.
