Notes

'Mrs Edward Harding' lilac (Syringa vulgaris 'Mrs Edward Harding') is a shrub for cottage gardens, specimens, hedges, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It blooms in early to late spring with fragrant flowers. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit it, and it tolerates salt.

Pairs well with Kansas peony, Little Beauty tulip, Christmas fern, and Limelight hydrangea.
