Notes

Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris) is a perennial for naturalized areas. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average, sandy or loamy soil. It grows fast, stands 24 to 48 inches tall, and spreads 36 to 72 inches wide, so give it room. Yellowish to reddish brown flowers appear in summer and again in autumn. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Blonde Ambition blue grama, Knapweed, and Rose.

Native range

Europe to Iran and Siberia and northern Africa.
