Notes

California sagebrush (Artemisia californica) is a shrub for low maintenance, hedge, and xeriscape plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes full sun and dry, sandy or loamy soil. The evergreen foliage is soft, fine, and gray-green, and it grows fast. You can cut the stems back after bloom for a neater look. Deer rarely make it their first choice.

Pairs well with White sage, Eastern mojave buckwheat, and Dwarf chapparal-broom.
