Notes

Multiflora rose (Rosa multiflora) is a shrub for borders. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its arching canes grow fast and reach 6 to 15 feet tall. Fragrant white to light pink flowers attract butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds. Give it plenty of room, since it spreads 8 to 18 feet wide.

Pairs well with Juneberry, September Charm anemone, Greig's tulip, and Orange daylily.

Native range

Japan and Korea.
