Notes

'National' boxwood (Buxus microphylla 'National') is a shrub for hedges, foundation plantings, formal gardens, and specimen use. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or clay soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It grows slowly into a dense evergreen shape, so it holds a clipped form well. Creamy white flowers open in early to late spring and draw bees.

Pairs well with Karl Foerster feather reed grass, Blue Mouse Ears hosta, and Eden rose.
