Notes
'New York Night' Lenten rose (Helleborus hybridus 'New York Night') is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland settings, borders, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes part to full shade and average moisture. Deep purple-black petals surround creamy yellow stamens in late winter and early spring. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal. The evergreen plant forms a mounding clump 12 to 18 inches tall and wide.
Pairs well with Marginal wood fern, Lime Marmalade coral bells, and White wood aster.
