Notes

'Anna's Red' Lenten rose (Helleborus hybridus 'Anna's Red') is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland settings, winter interest, and ground cover. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part to full shade and average moisture. Single red-purple blossoms with creamy yellow stamens open from late winter into mid spring. The red stems are sturdy. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with Lady in Red lady fern, Allegheny spurge, and Snow Queen oakleaf hydrangea.
