Notes
'Nikko' slender deutzia (Deutzia gracilis 'Nikko') is a shrub for borders, hedges, foundation plantings, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. It grows 12 to 24 inches tall and spreads 24 to 60 inches with an arching habit. Fragrant spring flowers draw hummingbirds and birds, and the leaves turn color in fall. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal.
Pairs well with Bridal wreath spiraea, Japanese forest grass, Garden phlox, and Primrose.
