Notes
Slender deutzia (Deutzia gracilis) is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, and hedges. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Its arching stems bear fragrant white flowers in spring and again in summer, and hummingbirds and birds visit the blooms. Deer tend to pass it by.
Pairs well with Bridal wreath spiraea, David garden phlox, Japanese forest grass, and Bloodgood Japanese maple.
