Notes
Noble goldenrod (Solidago speciosa) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. Yellow flowers form dense, pyramidal clusters that attract butterflies, bees, and birds. Give it room, because it can become aggressive in moist soils.
Pairs well with Aromatic aster, Brown-eyed Susan, and Sedge.
Native range
Central and eastern United States.
