Notes

'Nong Yan Chun Fang' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Nong Yan Chun Fang') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant, reddish-purple double flowers open in mid to late spring. The blooms face upward and measure about 13 cm across. New foliage emerges red, then turns green with purple margins.

Pairs well with Susan magnolia, Jackmanii clematis, Grape hyacinth, and Anglojap yew.
