Notes

'Norwegian' sweet cherry (Prunus avium 'Norwegian') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun. Its columnar habit suits smaller spaces, and bees and butterflies visit the blooms from early to late spring. The cherries are grown for eating fresh and ripen late in the season. You need a second cherry tree nearby for pollination, because it is not self-fertile.

Pairs well with Many Happy Returns peony, Cat's Pajamas nepeta, Red Riding Hood tulip, and Sensitive fern.
