Notes
'Old Smoky' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Old Smoky') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Lilac-pink and blush flowers with violet-red flares open in mid spring on a low, mounded plant about 36 inches tall. The foliage stays healthy and dense. Nate Bremer bred it.
Pairs well with Siberian iris, Heather, Clematis, and Ostrich fern.
