Notes

'Omurayama' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Omurayama') is a tree for specimen, accent, and woodland use. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. It grows slowly into a broad shape, so give it room to spread. Red spring flowers draw bees and birds, and the leaves change color in fall.

Pairs well with Dogwood, Rising Sun Texas redbud, and Casa Blanca lily.
