Notes

'Orion' peony (Paeonia 'Orion') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Semi-double golden-yellow flowers have darker flares and open from spring into early summer. Dark foliage sets off the blooms, and butterflies visit them. Deer and rabbits usually look elsewhere for a meal.

Pairs well with Catmint, Royal Purple smoketree, and Bells of Ireland.
