Notes

'Oshio-Beni' Japanese maple (Acer palmatum 'Oshio-Beni') is a tree for specimen, accent, and woodland use. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. It grows slowly into a broad shape and turns color in fall. Reddish-purple flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees and birds.

Pairs well with Woodland phlox, Japanese forest grass, and Rising Sun Texas redbud.
