Notes
'Paris' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Paris') is a shrub for borders, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Flowers open in early to late summer and early to late autumn. Deer tend to pass it by. It also tolerates salt, so it suits coastal yards.
Pairs well with Siebold's hosta, Japanese forest grass, Astilbe, and Autumn fern.
