Notes

'Passacaglia' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Passacaglia') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Irmtraud Rieck bred it, and the semi-double pink flowers fade to white with age. Each bloom is about 8 inches across and has dark flares and a light fragrance.

Pairs well with Hollyhock, Witch hazel, Switchgrass, and Toad lily.
