Notes
'Passion' bigleaf hydrangea (Hydrangea macrophylla 'Passion') is a shrub for borders, containers, shade gardens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows rapidly to 35 to 47 inches tall and tolerates salt. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Flowers open from spring to autumn.
Pairs well with Wide Brim hosta, Beni-Maiko Japanese maple, and Lady fern.
