Notes
'Pennlawn' red fescue (Festuca rubra 'Pennlawn') is a grass for ground cover, shade gardens, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows at a rapid rate and forms an arching clump that tolerates drought. Green blooms appear in early to late spring. Deer tend to browse other plants first.
Pairs well with Pussytoes, New England aster, and Picture tulip.
