Notes

Perforate st john’s wort (Hypericum perforatum) is a perennial for pollinator gardens, low maintenance beds, and meadows. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Yellow flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Bees visit the blooms, and the plant tolerates drought.

Pairs well with David garden phlox, Indian grass, and Nodding onion.
